Margareta Hammar is an Swedish-American actress and writer whose television credits include "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Star Trek: Voyager" and "Benny Hill's World Tour."
Born on August 21, 1973 in Edsbyn, Sweden, Hammar grew up on a farm in Edsbyn and attended high school in Gävle before moving to Paris, France, where she trained acting at the John Strasberg Institute. She grew up in the United States, attending the University of California in Berkeley, California, while taking acting classes in Los Angeles. She starred in episodes of "Seinfeld," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager," later moving to New York City where she studied acting and creative writing at the Columbia University. While in New York City, she appeared as a streetwalker in the tag scene of Benny Hill's World Tour. She also appeared on stage in "Museum" and "Lunch Hour." In the late 1990s, she moved back to Sweden where she has been working as scriptwriter, actress, and comedienne. In 2012, she wrote the short comedy, "Lattemorsor," and appeared in several Swedish documentaries, television specials, and game shows. She also toured the country with her stand-up comedy program, working on commercials and radio shows.
Hammar has also worked as a dress mannequin, Swedish language teacher for immigrants and a workshop leader on Forsberg's advertising school. She also speaks fluent French and has yellow belt in karate.
