Johnny Vyvyan was an English-Australian actor comedian possibly best known for his appearances on "The Benny Hill Show."
Vyvyan was born in Bogibri, Australia in 1929. His first appearance as an actor was in the TV movie "Trial Gallop," later appearing on "Son of Fred" and "The Harry Secombe Show" before first working with Benny Hill on the BBC. He also appeared on Benny's short-lived anthology series and years later was considered as a possible replacement for Jackie Wright on Thames Television.
His other work includes the TV shows "Hancock's Half Hour," "The Avengers," "Our House," "It's Your Move" and Monty Python's "The Complete and Utter History of Britain." He also worked with comedians Bob Monkhouse and Des O'Connor.
He passed away on September 3, 1984 in his home in Godalming, Surrey, England. Ironically, his home was later acquired by actor Terry-Thomas of "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" and "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" fame. Ironically, Terry-Thomas would pass away in the house himself in 1990.
