Hugh William Paddick was an English character actor probably best known for the 1960s BBC radio show "Round the Horne." He also enjoyed success on stage playing Percival Browne in the original West End production of "The Boy Friend" in 1954.
Born in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire on August 22, 1915, Paddick worked mostly on stage through his acting career. He was also an accomplished musician, singer, pianist and organist, often accompanying Julian and Sandy on the piano in a number of their sketches on both "Round the Horne" and "The Bona World of Julian and Sandy."

He also worked with comedian Benny Hill on the April 20, 1968 of his BBC series and an episode of the sitcom anthology Benny Hill. He later played and announcer in an episode of his Thames TV series.
Paddick passed away in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire in November 9, 2000 at the age of eighty-five, survived by his life partner, Francis, whom he met at a party in London thirty years before.
