Anna Dawson is an English actress and singer. Born on July 31, 1937 in Bolton, England, she spent part of her childhood in Tanganyika, where her father worked, later attending the Elmhurst Ballet School in England. She studied dance at the Central School of Speech and Drama and later became an actress, working in repertory theater companies.
Dawson went on to star in several West End musicals, going on to star in episodes of "Dixon of Dock Green" during the 60s and getting cast in the final years of "The Benny Hill Show" during the 80s. She also starred as Hyacinth's sister Violet in the comedy, "Keeping Up Appearances," though her character was only featured on screen briefly in four episodes.
Dawson is married to John Boulter, a former Black and White Minstrel Show soloist.
